Working with Apartment & Strata Communities:
A Handbook for (Victorian) Local Governments
We’re proud to share Let Me Be Frank’s latest publication and hope it gives all levels of government (and other stakeholders) a fast start to working for and with apartment building and other strata titled communities.
We have a long-held love of working with apartment building communities, and the strata sector more broadly. It’s a world full of challenge but also one with huge opportunities to improve lives.
And it’s an issue of equity. Apartments house a high proportion of renters, people from diverse cultural backgrounds, and those with lower incomes.
As the threat of extreme weather worsens, and the need for community resilience increases, we hope to see more resources, tools, programs, guidance, and policy to support the needs of these communities who are literally at the heart of our cities.
Need a hand?
If you’re working in this space (or want to), we hope the Handbook helps you hit the ground running. And if you need a hand designing, delivering, or evaluating an apartment / strata communities program or initiative, we’d love to help! Please get in touch.
Project partners
A huge thank you to City of Melbourne for helping to fund this project, and in particular to the sustainability and neighbourhood teams for their contributions and support.
Also a giant thank you to our amazing collaborators Julie McLean, Strata Community Association (Vic) and Dr Janette Corcoran, Owners Corporation Network. These two brilliant women continue to offer invaluable insights, to share generosity, to lead with passion, and provide seemingly endless energy to help us all do better.
